  • Profile

Dr Sebastian Kapohl is Associate Professor of International Relations at the University of Amsterdam in the Political Economy and Transnational Governance research group.

Sebastian Krapohl studied Political Science at the University of Bamberg, the London School of Economics and the European University Institute. Before he got the position in Amsterdam, he was Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant and Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of Bamberg and he substituted the Chair of Contemporary History at the University of Mannheim during the academic year 2011/12.

Sebastian Krapohl's research focusses on regional market integration and international trade policy. His PhD project analysed the regulation of foodstuffs and pharmaceutiocals on the EU's single market, and his post-doc project dealt with regional integration in developing regions like Southeast Asia, South America and Southern Africa. Currently, Sebastian Krapohl is preparing a new research project, which employs models of evolutionary game theory to analyse international cooperation on issues of global trade liberalisation and climate protection.

Sebastian Krapohl has published two books with Palgrave Macmillan and articles in international journals like Contemporary Politics, the European Journal of Political Research, the Journal of Common Market Studies and the Journal of European Public Policy.

Further information about Sebastian Krapohl and his research can be found at his personal website.
