Lara is an Assistant Professor in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. She studied psychology at the University of Bonn and Utrecht University, and completed her PhD at Erasmus Medical Center in collaboration with the University of Amsterdam. Her dissertation, titled Coaching for better physician well-being, focused on understanding and improving physicians’ well-being, with a particular emphasis on workplace coaching. In addition to her research, Lara teaches bachelor’s and master’s courses and regularly supervises master’s students in their thesis projects.
Lara is actively involved in valorisation and impact initiatives. She co-founded the podcast PhD Unplugged, developed the PhD Coach Kit, has a recurring science column in Tijdschrift voor Coaching, and serves on the board of the Werkgemeenschap Arbeids- en Organisatiepsychologie (WAOP). She is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Nederlandse Orde van Beroepscoaches (NOBCO). Lara has a strong passion for applied research, citizen science, and close collaboration with societal partners.
