Since 1999, Frank Tros is affiliated to the Amsterdam Law School of the University of Amsterdam.
Frank Tros holds a Msc in Sociology - University of Groningen. After his PhD at Utrecht University - on Decentralisation of the industrial relations in the Netherlands - he was post-doctoral researcher for NWO, the Netherlands Organisation for scientific research, studying the relationships between flexibility and security in European labour markets and 'flexicurity' policy concepts.
Frank Tros is ranked in the top 10% of Authors on SSRN by all-time downloads with the article together with Ton Wilthagen (The Concept of Flexicurity: A New Approach to Regulating Employment and Labour Markets, in: Transfer, European Review of Labour and Research, Vol. 10, No. 2, 2004).
Frank Tros has been involved in many research projects at the Hugo Sinzheimer Instituut and the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced labour Studies (AIAS) in the fields of labour law, social dialogue and employment relations. He initiated an European cross-country study on Intergenerational Bargaining and has been involved in many other EU projects: Youth for union, Negotiating wage (in)equality and Bargaining for productivity . He is coordinator in the Dutch study on Modernisering medezeggenschap
Frank Tros is boardmember of the Stichting Nederlandse ArbeidsmarktDag, a two-yearly conference that aim to bridge the activities and communication between researchers and polcymakers in the field of labour market studies in the Netherlands.
