The Masterās in Actuarial Science and Risk Analytics combines actuarial science with modern quantitative risk analytics. You will develop specialist modelling skills and learn how to measure, model and manage financial and insurance risks. Topics include non-life insurance, pensions, behavioural insurance and finance, stochastic calculus, financial mathematics, asset-liability management and data-driven risk modelling.

With a Masterās degree you prove you can handle high intellectual pressure. The difference is not just knowledge: it is the level of complexity you learn to handle. Whereas the Bachelorās provides broad foundations, this Master's offers specialist depth in risk management and insurance topics at an advanced academic level. You develop the professional judgement that employers expect from a graduate-level hire. The MSc title also opens doors, including the post-Master's trajectory, that a Bachelor's degree alone does not.
The Master's in Actuarial Science and Risk Analytics combines theory and practice. You study mathematical concepts in courses like Stochastic Calculus and Financial Mathematics for Insurance. You also work on practical cases. For example, in the Asset Liability Management course, you work with real business problems. You use Monte Carlo simulation and learn communication skills. Most courses have a final exam and other assessments like presentations and practical work.
You graduate with a solid set of hard skills: statistical modelling in R, Generalised Linear Models for insurance pricing, stochastic calculus, Monte Carlo simulation and Asset Liability Management techniques that are used daily in the industry. In the hands-on Asset Liability Management seminar you work on real cases involving asset dynamics, liability modelling and numerical methods, while also developing the communication and teamwork skills that employers value just as highly. On the soft skills side, oral presentations, research proposals and active tutorial participation ensure you can translate complex quantitative findings into clear recommendations.
Many students find a job even before they graduate. And if you want to go further, the programme is a direct stepping stone to the Actuaris AG (AAG) title via the Postmaster Actuarial Practice Cycle.
The mathematical and statistical demands of this programme are high, and that is also what makes it valuable. Courses like Stochastic Calculus and Financial Mathematics for Insurance require a firm command of probability theory, stochastic processes and mathematical finance, while Non-Life Insurance pushes you to implement Generalised Linear Models and incurred but not reported (IBNR) claims reserving methods in R from the first period. Risk Management for Insurers and Pensions adds another layer, requiring you to simultaneously model financial and insurance risks and design mitigation strategies from a long-term perspective.
The programme takes 12 months, so you invest a relatively short time in a specialist degree. With a Masterās you can demonstrate the specialist knowledge and professional credibility that employers expect, which a Bachelorās degree alone does not show. One year of focused study significantly expands both your earning potential and the range of roles available to you.
The pre-Master's programme (a minimum of 1 semester of 6 months, depending on your Bachelorās degree) bridges the gap and grants access to the Master's the following September.
