By establishing chairs with a special emphasis on artificial intelligence, the UvA aims to give an extra boost to its AI research and teaching. In addition to their university-wide assignment, the new University Professors also have a faculty assignment. They are expected to give an impetus to academic developments in AI that transcend traditional disciplines and contribute to raising the University's AI profile.
