Milan is a PhD candidate at the Political Science Department of the University of Amsterdam (UvA), where he works within the ERC-funded Corpnet research group. He am a member of the program group Political Economy and Transnational Governance and the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR).
His research interests span International Political Economy and Comparative Politics in general. Specifically, Milan is interested in question of corporate and state power, transnational class agency, European integration and the future of neoliberal globalization and the liberal international order.

Milan's PhD project deals with the rise of transnational state capital and its consequences for global power relations. In this project, he sets up and employs the largest up-to-date dataset on transnational state ownership relations to analyze and better understand the rise of states as owners in the global political economy.
