  • Profile

Irene Dubel is a PhD candidate with a focus on transnational feminist activism at the Department of Political Science. Her interest is specifically in the politics and dynamics of transnational feminist solidarity activism and policy advocacy across North-South divides.

For her PhD, she studies specific cases of Dutch transnational feminist solidarity activism that have emerged since 1975 (International Women’s Year). Her research draws on her professional career in Dutch and international development cooperation which has included a main focus on women’s (human) rights, gender equality, sexual and reproductive rights and support to (feminist) social movements.

Her PhD is supervised by Dr. Conny Roggeband at UvA and Prof. Mieke Verloo at Radboud University.
