  • About

I am an Assistant Professor of Europe-China Relations at the Department of European Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Before joining the department in 2022, I worked as a senior researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law & International Law (2021), as lecturer of East Asian Economy and Society at the University of Vienna (2019/20), and as junior lecturer at the Department of Chinese Studies at Tuebingen University (2013-2019). I received my PhD (Dr. phil.) at the University of Tuebingen which has been published by Amsterdam University Press in 2022.

My research interests generally lie within Critical Security Studies with a focus on borders, mobility, and data regulation, Chinese politics, global and transnational migration governance with focus on China, East Asia, and Europe, EU technology policy, digital sovereignty, and role of Chinese enterprises in developing ‘critical’ infrastructures in Europe, Chinese history of thought and theories of International Relations, and China in International Organizations and the EU.
