I am a PhD candidate at the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies, working on the project The Afterlives of Technologies for Sustainable Transitions, funded by the RPA Grant. My research interrogates how water metering technologies materialise across their lives and afterlives in different socio-economic settings in Cape Town, and what these divergent trajectories reveal about struggles for just water futures in a city shaped by enduring colonial and racialised inequalities.

My path to this project began during my Master's in International Development Studies at the University of Amsterdam, which took me to Cape Town to conduct fieldwork on low-income women's experiences of the water crisis. Working in collaboration with the Future Water Institute at the University of Cape Town, and supervised by Dr. Karen Paiva Henrique and Dr. Sithabile Hlahla (local supervisor), that research planted the seeds for the questions I am now pursuing at doctoral level. Building on this work, I was awarded the Beca Nativitat Yarza scholarship in 2023, through which I published Dones i Sequera a la Catalunya Rural: Una Perspectiva Feminista. My academic background weaves together critical theory and climate action. I hold a diploma in Sustainable Transition and Climate Emergency Management from ESCI-UPF and Bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Political Science from the Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. My undergraduate thesis on ecofeminism and care received a 9.75/10, and my Political Science thesis on gender stereotypes in crisis communication was a finalist for the Premi Miquel Caminal i Anna Alabart award.

I am fluent in Catalan, Spanish, English, and French, and currently working on my Dutch and Italian.
