    Short biography

    Frans van Winden is professor of economics at the Amsterdam School of Economics, and PI at the Cognitive Science Center Amsterdam, of the University of Amsterdam. He is founding-director of CREED (1991-2011) and founding co-director (1987-1992) and former member of the board of the Tinbergen Institute. He held visiting positions at a.o. the California Institute of Technology, Harvard Univeristy, CES (Munich), the Zentrum für interdisziplinäre Forschung (Bielefeld), and UCLA. He is a fellow of CEPR, CESifo and the Tinbergen Institute, and at present on the editorial board of Public Choice.

    Research interests 

    His main research interests are in the fields of political economics, behavioral economics, neuroeconomics and experimental economics.
