Refugee work experience programme: Relink
For refugees with a university education (Bachelor’s degree minimum) the UvA offers the work experience programme Relink. The aim of the programme is to help educated refugees improve their starting position on the labour market and increase their chances of getting a job.
As a participant, you will work at the UvA , the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) or the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) for 2 to 4 days a week over a 6-month period. Work placements are mainly in support services such as financial administration, student administration or in the library.
You will also take part in Dutch language courses and attend career orientation workshops provided by the UvA. During the placement, you can continue to receive benefits from the Dutch government.
The programme is open to refugees living in Amsterdam. You must have intermediate Dutch skills (B1/B2 level minimum) at the start of the programme. We select participants based on their prior education, work experience and motivation to take part in the programme.
You can apply year-round. The work experience programme starts twice a year.
