When can I apply for the Bachelor’s programme Psychology starting in September 2022?
Our application portal Studielink will be open from 1 October 2021 till 15 January 2022. The application deadline for the Psychology Bachelor's programme starting in September 2021 has passed.

How many places are available for this programme?
We offer 600 places.

I did not get an email with a link to the application form. What should I do?
Make sure you have completed your registration in Studielink.
- The Central Student Administration will send you an email with a link to the application form within 1 or 2 days after your registration in Studielink. Please keep an eye on your inbox and do not forget to check your spam box.
- Make sure you check the inbox that corresponds with the email address you filled out in Studielink.
- You can also check your application form via https://myinfo.uva.nl/
- Unable to log in? Activate your UvAnetID at id.student.uva.nl/user-activation/UVA/id
Note that the Student Desk Psychology cannot speed up the process of sending you the link to the application form. Please make sure you register on time. We recommend you start your application at least a couple of days before the deadline, in order to avoid complications or delay.
Questions about the requirements

Will the entry requirements remain unchanged for 2022-2023?
We are currently updating the entry requirements for 2022-2023. As of October 2021, these will be available on the website.

Do I need specific grades for entry?
All information about accepted diploma’s and grades can be found in the diploma calculator. If no specific grades are mentioned, you do not need to obtain specific grades to meet the entry requirements. You then only have to pass your exams to be eligible for admission.

Can you check my curriculum and tell me if I am eligible?
Whether or not you meet the requirements is something we can check after having received your application. We do not do pre-checks of your curriculum to see whether you are eligible.
It is initially up to your judgement to see if you meet the requirements for the Bachelor’s programme in Psychology. We know this may be difficult being a student from another country. However, we can only evaluate your file once we have received your entire application.Check the diploma calculator.

The level of my prior education is sufficient, but haven’t taken mathematics in my last year of high school, am I still eligible?
If you have a deficiency in mathematics, you are able to take an additional exam to make up the deficiency. An example of such an exam is the mathematics A exam of the James Boswell Institute or the Online Mathematics Placement Test OMPT-A. The required score is 75%. We do not accept SAT-scores.

I have relevant work experience, but I do not meet all academic requirements. Can I apply?
In order to be eligible, you have to meet the academic requirements as listed on the entry requirements page. Work experience can be an addition to, but no substitute, for the academic requirements.

I am a mature applicant, what are the entry requirements?
We don’t have special entry requirements for mature students. Every student needs to meet the requirements to be able to participate in the selection procedure.

I am a student at another Dutch university. Can I transfer to the UvA's Psychology Programme?
Students with an unfinished Bachelor's degree in Psychology from another Dutch university can submit a transfer request to see at what point in the programme they can be admitted to the UvA. In any case the first (propaedeutic) year has to have been completed to request a transfer. For more details please click on the link below.

I am filling out the online application form but I cannot click on the submit button. What should I do?
Please check if you have filled in all mandatory fields of the application form.

I have registered in Studielink and submitted the online application form via MyInfo. Have you received my application?
You will receive a confirmation via MyInfo when we received your application. You can check your status yourself via MyInfo.

There is a message that I will be forwarded to the payment application, but nothing happens.
We use a standard application form that is used by several programmes of the UvA. There is no application fee for the Bachelor’s programme of Psychology, so you can ignore that message.

Can I retake the test?
You cannot retake the selection test. You only have one selection attempt.

When do I get my result of the selection test?
You will receive your ranking number on 15 April 2022.

My ranking number is 670, but I did receive an offer, is that correct? Or am I on the waiting list?
We have 600 places. Anyone who receives an offer has 14 days to accept or decline the offer. If no action is taken after 14 days, the offer will expire. As soon as an offer is declined or expired, a place becomes available for a new student. Your ranking number does not change, so even with ranking numbers above 600 it is possible to get an offer.

I got accepted and I have been asked to send in a certified hardcopy of my diploma. My university doesn’t issue certified copies or they charge a high fee for this. Am I allowed to send a notary certified copy instead?
Yes, we do accept a notary certified copy of your diploma. Watch the video for more information about submitting certified documents.

Is this Bachelor's programme English-taught?
Yes, the lectures, materials and exams are in English. The tutorials are offered in both English and Dutch.
