Daniela An is a PhD researcher in Persuasive Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR). Her research focuses on synthetic media content and AI literacy. Specifically, she examines different forms of AI-generated content, how they influence individuals, and how to develop effective strategies that empower people to critically engage with such content in an increasingly AI-dominated media landscape.

Prior to starting her PhD, she studied Communication Science at the University of Hohenheim (BA) and at the University of Amsterdam (Research MSc).
