    Laurens Ankersmit is Universitair Docent Europees recht bij de afdeling Internationaal en Europees Publiekrecht. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op milieubescherming in internationaal en Europees economisch recht. In 2017 publiceerde hij het boek  Green Trade and Fair Trade in and with the EU: Process-based Measures within the EU Legal Order. Dit boek gaat over het reguleren van groene en fairtrade producten op de Europese interne markt en over extraterritoriale aspecten van marktliberalisatie en regulering. Hij is in 2015 gepromoveerd and de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam en heeft de afgelopen jaren gewerkt als jurist bij ClientEarth op het Europese handelsbeleid, en het bijzonder de handelsakoorden TTIP en CETA tussen de EU and respectievelijk de Verenigde Staten en Canada. 

    Laurens Ankersmit is oprichter en redacteur van het European Law Blog.
