    I am Associate Professor at the Dept. of Theatre Studies of the University of Amsterdam and a research affiliate with the  Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis.

    My research interests revolve around the intersections of culture, performance and politics. I have published studies on a wide range of topics including nonviolent protest, participatory art, artistic activism, feminist and postcolonial/decolonial theories and translation. 

    I am an active member of the collectives UvA Staff for Palestine and  International Solidarity for Academic Freedom in India (InSAF India).

    I also study Indian percussion (Tabla) with Niti Ranjan Biswas.
