Piotr Krajewski is Assistant Professor in EU Law at the Amsterdam Law School and a member of the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance (ACELG). His research interest and expertise revolve around EU constitutional law (with a focus on EU external relations) as well as EU trade, climate, and industrial policies. He has published papers, legal opinions and short analyses on such topics as the role of expertise in crafting EU climate policy or the tensions between economic objectives and sustainable development in EU trade policy.

Piotr joined the ACELG in September 2020 as a PhD researcher within the project 'Separation of Powers for 21st Century Europe' (separope.eu) conducted jointly by the University of Amsterdam, the University of Gothenburg, and the University of Helsinki. His PhD thesis ("Democracy, Control, Legitimacy: Separation of Powers and EU Trade and Investment policy'') examines the institutional framework and practices of negotiation of trade and investment agreements by the European Union through the lens of separation of powers, combining doctrinal, philosophical, and empirical methods. The thesis was successfully defended on 2nd June 2025. Between November 2024 and August 2025, Piotr worked as a post-doctoral researcher in RED SPINEL project (Hello - RED SPINEL), investigating the consequences of the rule of law crisis and the broader normative dissensus for different areas of EU policymaking.

Piotr holds degrees in Philosophy (BA degree, 2016) and Law (Master's degree, 2019) from the Univerity of Warsaw, Poland. He also holds an LL.M. degree in European Law from the College of Europe, Bruges (2020) enabled by a full-ride scholarship granted by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During various summer schools, he also studied international economic policies and trade law at, among others, the University of Amsterdam, George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia) and the Charles University in Prague.

Piotr completed a number of traineeships in the private and public sector, notably at the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department of International Law), and, during his PhD research, the European Commission (DG Trade, the unit responsible for Multilateral Trade and Sustainable Development and EU Green Deal).
