I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), political science department. Using participatory methods, I study the use of financial transaction data for security purposes by Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs). The PhD is part of the research project 'FOLLOW: Following the Money from Transaction to Trial,' funded by the European Research Council (ERC) (http://www.projectfollow.org/). I work furthermore as a teacher at the PPLE college (Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics), teaching broadly on politics, rhetoric, and financial intelligence, and mentoring students.
At present, I am working on a new research project that examines multispecies entanglements, with a specific interest in agriculture. I am volunteering at the farming cooperative Land van Ons (Our Land), which aims at buying up polluted farmland to introduce biodiverse agriculture. I work as a correspondent and part of a local 'perceelgroep' in Leiden. In this capacity, I seek to understand what it means to do what Latour calls ‘earthly politics’ in daily practice. Please reach out in case you have similar interests or know of interesting research initiatives that might align!
