I am currently a PhD candidate under the supervision of Dr. Thom Westveer, Prof. Dr. Enoch O. Aboh and Dr. Petra Sleeman.

PhD project: Inclusive language in French: challenges for L2 education.

My PhD project focuses on the use of gender-inclusive language in French and its implications for L2 learners. It is organized in three phases. First, I will examine how inclusive language strategies are used across the French-speaking world, drawing on corpus studies and fieldwork with native speakers. Second, I will investigate the psycholinguistic effects of these strategies on L2 learners, focusing on reading times and text comprehension. Finally, I explore learners’ attitudes toward gender-inclusive language and evaluate their perspectives on its potential integration into the curriculum. This research contributes to a broader understanding of how language change interacts with second language acquisition and pedagogy.

    About me

Originally from the French west coast, I hold a BA in Language Sciences from the University of Nantes and a MA in General Linguistics from Radboud University.
