Žan Mlakar is a postdoctoral researcher with a background in environmental psychology and marketing. His early work focused on what conditions help provoke social tipping points - widespread changes in social norms and behaviour that are needed to mitigate climate change. Afterwards, he transitioned towards studying public support for EU climate policy and the factors that determine whether people will support a given policy. Currently, he works on NWO project called ChangeAble, where he is merging his two past research streams to examine how climate policy interventions can be used to provoke widespread behaviour change by leveraging social tipping dynamics.
