I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam. Taking a cultural sociological approach, I study the cultural dimensions of climate (change) in the Netherlands and Indonesia through multi-sited ethnography. Specifically, I am interested in how people ascribe meaning to climate (change), how those (conflicting) meanings affect how environmental knowledge and policies are received, and how they both influence and are influenced by politics and public debate.
