Carina is a PhD researcher in the ERC-funded project DATAGOV at the University of Amsterdam. Carina’s doctoral research analyzes how Brazil’s new digital ID infrastructure changes the long-established challenges, opportunities, and strategies that different groups face and rely on when fighting for their rights via state identification. Carina works within science & technology studies (STS), critical infrastructure studies, and valuation studies. Carina holds an MA in Science, Technology and Society from the University of Vienna, as well as a B.Sc. and B.Ed. in Social Sciences from the University of Campinas.
