My research interests focus on intercultural health communication, in particular on the role of language-related and culture-related factors explaining communication difficulties between healthcare providers and ethnic minority patients with low language proficiency in the host country’s dominant language(s). In addition, I focus on the use of technology in interventions to mitigate language- and culture-related barriers in communication.
