  • Profile

Elisa Schramm is a human geographer interested in processes of transformation towards more sustainable and just futures, with a focus on everyday practices, particularly around dwelling (eco-communities and housing cooperatives) and mobilities (transport cooperatives and progressive urban mobility initiatives). She has a particular interest in practices that may lead to transformations towards post-capitalism or post-growth. Her work combines STS, more-than-human geographies and affect theories with economic geography and sociology.

She is currently a postdoctoral researcher for the circular grassroots project funded by the NWO and the Driving Urban Transitions Consortium (grant number: F-DUT-2022-0110). She is also the International Co-Investigator of a British Academy Knowledge Frontier Grant entitled ‘Towards post-growth cities: the cultural politics of mobility transitions in London and Barcelona’. (Award Reference: KF8\230018).

She holds a PhD from the University of Oxford in Geography and the Environment and has previously completed postdoctoral research as part of the ERC-funded project PROSPERA at the University of Vigo, Spain
