Dragana Stojmenovska is assistant professor at the Department of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam. Prior to joining the UvA, she was postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology at New York University (2022-2024).
She holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Amsterdam, a Master's degree (Research) in Social Sciences (University of Amsterdam), and a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Amsterdam University College, including a six-month exchange at the Chinese University of Hong Kong). Her PhD dissertation (2022) received the Best Dissertation Award from the European Consortium for Sociological Research and her Master's thesis (2016) received the Best Social Science Master Thesis in Gender and Sexuality Studies from the Amsterdam Research Center for Gender and Sexuality.
Her research centers around questions of gender and work, with a focus on feminist approaches to social stratification and inequality. Stojmenovska is the recipient of a Rubicon and Research Talent grant from the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
