Mijn onderzoekspassie ligt in het ontdekken van manieren om gezonde levensstijlkeuzes te bevorderen. Mijn promotieonderzoek draaide om het ontwerp en de evaluatie van een mobiele applicatie voor het Supreme Nudge-project. Door gebruik te maken van het JITAI (Just-In-Time Adaptive Intervention) raamwerk, biedt deze app individuele real-time feedback en advies over lichamelijke activiteit. Het innovatieve coachingsysteem stuurt gebruikersspecifieke tips tijdens cruciale beslissingsmomenten gedurende de dag, zoals het voorstellen van een omweg door een nabijgelegen park om dagelijkse stappendoelen te halen.
Als postdoc onderzoeker ben ik overgestapt naar een project dat gericht is op pandemieparaatheid. Het doel is om de naleving van preventieve maatregelen tegen virussen, zoals SARS-CoV-2, te verbeteren. Door zowel online als veldexperimenten te gebruiken, onderzoeken we de effectiviteit van communicatiestrategieën die preventief gedrag bevorderen.
