    Teresa is a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, primarily working on the BENEDMO project, a Flemish-Dutch collaboration tackling disinformation. In this project, she studies the impact of emerging forms of disinformation, including AI-generated visuals, and is involved in policy analysis concerning social media platforms’ compliance with the Code of Practice on Disinformation. Teresa holds a PhD in Communication Science from the University of Vienna, where she has lived from 2021 to 2024. Before that, she completed a master’s degree in journalism, Media and Globalization at Aarhus University and the University of Amsterdam, and worked as a lecturer at the Amsterdam College of Communication. Her research interests include deepfakes, visual disinformation, fact-checking, and visual political communication.
