The two-year Research Master's in Linguistics and Communication brings together linguistic theory and data from experimental and corpus studies, and has a strong emphasis on methodology.

Theoretical variety

In this Master’s programme, you will study language and communication from various theoretical perspectives, including generative grammar, functional discourse grammar, optimality theory, neural networks, argumentation theory, rhetoric and discourse theory.

You will be taught to understand the value of these different theoretical approaches in analysing linguistic problems. The programme boasts an open, constructive atmosphere, in which you are trained to look beyond your own particular field of expertise.
