Based on a pleasant introductory meeting, the COR advised the Supervisory Board to appoint Prof. Vinod Subramaniam. He has a strong background in governance and academia, and convincing connecting and inspiring ambitions.

Cooperation with the Central Works Council

In addition, Prof. Subramaniam has expressed an intention to involve the participating bodies in the development of policy at an early stage. The role of the UvA as employer for both academic and support staff will play a central role in that process. The COR also appreciates his open attitude towards cooperation, connection with the region, and the role of the UvA within society.

The COR is confident that the new President will contribute to better implementation of policy documents, and the activation of dossiers that have been delayed. We look forward to a constructive continuation of the cooperation between the council and the Executive Board.
