Educational psychologist Kina Smit sees in her general mental healthcare practice just how much stress is increasing for both parents and children. High expectations, criticism from all sides, and daily screen-time dilemmas are making parenting even more challenging. Added to this is the persistent belief that the nuclear family must handle everything on its own. Kina wrote a book about this pressure—and how things can be different: Parenting Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect.

In this interactive lecture, Smit unpacks how parenting has become so complicated, and how more calm, letting go, and trust in your child can make all the difference. Her key message for parents: ‘Don’t let it drive you mad!’

Come along to listen, join the conversation, and discover how parenting can be simpler (and more enjoyable) than you think.
