On 27 October, Amsterdam will celebrate its 750th anniversary. And the history of the University of Amsterdam is inseparably linked to that of the city. In this walk, guided by Reno Raaijmakers and Annette Vondra, past various UvA buildings such as the Agnietenkapel, the Oudemanhuispoort, the Allard Pierson Museum and the Maagdenhuis, the history of both the city and the university comes to life.

We begin the walk in the new University Library building on the Binnengasthuis premises. The former hospital building has been lovingly restored and renovated, while also being spectacularly expanded. A special gift to the city!
