UvA x Amsterdam Cleanup Day
On Friday, 18 September, the whole of Amsterdam will be tidying up the city. For the fifth edition of Amsterdam Cleanup Day, thousands of Amsterdammers will take to the streets to pick up litter. The UvA is taking part again.

Cleaning up the city together
Students, staff and our campus neighbours are warmly invited to roll up their sleeves together, just as we did in 2025. Armed with a litter picker, a bin bag and plenty of energy, we’ll make a visible difference on and around our campuses — and you’ll meet new people, too.
Registration
On the sign-up form, you can indicate which location you’d like to join. The city’s ambition is to work with 10,000 participants towards a litter-free Amsterdam. The UvA is keen to contribute.
Locations
We'll be meeting at two locations: Universiteitskwartier en Roeterseilandcampus. At 15:00, we’ll have a briefing, and then we’ll start the clean up at 15:15.
