Philipp Mösta is an expert in theoretical and computational astrophysics. His expertise lies in simulations of supernovae and compact object mergers, Numerical Relativity, and their multimessenger signals. He is a pioneer in large-scale numerical computations and has a strong track-record of acquiring research funding and computer time for high-impact scientific work. He completed his PhD at the Albert-Einstein-Institute in Potsdam, Germany in 2012 before being a postdoc at the California Institute of Technology and at UC Berkeley. He has held a NASA Einstein prize fellowship (2015-2018), won the APS Young Career award 2015, and joined the University of Amsterdam in 2019, where he is now a tenured associate professor at GRAPPA.
