Within the Executive Board, Lintsen is responsible for the finance and operations portfolio. The Supervisory Board greatly appreciates both the manner in which Lintsen has performed during his first term and the financial policy pursued in recent years. According to Supervisory Board chairperson Marise Voskens, it is therefore positive for the UvA that Lintsen is available for a second term of office: ‘Jan is a stable and complementary member of the Board. His portfolio pertains to the support of the core tasks of the UvA and is in capable hands with him. In addition to ICT and real estate management, there will also be additional challenges in the field of valorisation and internal services in the coming years. Areas in which Jan is happy to use his knowledge and experience.’
The Central Works Council and the Central Student Council both gave positive recommendations on the reappointment.
Jan Lintsen MBA has been a member of the Executive Board of the UvA since 1 September 2017. After graduating cum laude in Public Administration from the University of Twente, Lintsen worked for a long period for the Dutch government. He was, among other things, General Director of Finance, Management and Control at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (formerly Transport, Public Works and Water Management), and Director of Public Sector Information Policy at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. From 2013 to 2017, Lintsen was a member of the Executive Board of The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
