At our kick-off event, we will delve into the theme of ‘Accounting for the Future.’ Dramatic changes in firm environments require equally dramatic changes in the firm’s activities in order  to become future-proof and ensure long-term viability. However, management, investors and other stakeholders might not see eye to eye on how to act on these changes. While management may (may not) have a clear vision, investors may (may not) be sceptical about the need for change and prefer short-term returns, and employees may (may not) see how dramatic changes can benefit them. So how can we align various interests? How do we persuade different stakeholders to support long-term strategies? How can we inspire stakeholders to embrace a forward-looking mindset? And what role does control, governance, and transparent reporting play in achieving this alignment?

These questions will be at the heart of the launch event, featuring insights from thought leaders at the intersection of sustainability, accounting, and finance.
