Mr O. (Omar) Ramadan MSc MA

Member of the UvA Supervisory Board

Omar Ramadan has been a member of the UvA Supervisory Board since 15 May 2019. He has been appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science until 15 May 2027.
Omar Ramadan

Omar Ramadan (1976) is chair of the executive board of the merger organization of Horizon College and RegioCollege (from 1 August 2024: Talland College), which together provide 130 MBO courses in the province of North Holland. Ramadan previously served as chair of the executive board of Sophia Scholen (primary education) and director of RadarAdvies, an agency for social issues. He studied Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam and was chair of the Young Socialists in the PvdA. Previously, Ramadan acted as a member of the supervisory boards of the Mondriaan Regional Training Centre for vocational education in The Hague, the Amsterdam-based residents’ support organisation !WOON, and Youké, a youth care institution in Utrecht.
