On Tuesday, 7 May, a new demonstration began at Roeterseiland, with a large number of students and staff participating, showing their deep engagement. The protest was directed against the administration and the harsh police action on Monday. We understand that this police action has stirred emotions, and we have observed how this was peacefully expressed during the demonstration.

Later, the demonstration moved to the Binnengasthuisterrein, where it unfortunately resulted in the occupation of BG 4 and the Oudemanhuispoort, leading to significant damage.

Call to protesters

The Executive Board (CvB) would like to have a discussion with representatives of the demonstrators on Wednesday morning to engage in dialogue and find a solution. An invitation has already been sent out for this purpose. Due to the blockades, buildings BG 1, 2, 3, and the Oudemanhuispoort will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, 8 May.
