De Centrale Ondernemingsraad van de UvA heeft kennis genomen van de bezetting van het P.C. Hoofthuis. De COR ondersteunt, met vele andere partijen binnen de academische gemeenschap, de doelstellingen van WO in Actie en betreurt het zeer dat deze inspirerende week eindigt in een bezetting van een UvA-pand. Medewerkers kunnen door deze bezetting het pand niet vrij betreden en worden in hun werk belemmerd. Ook moeten colleges en diploma-uitreikingen worden verplaatst. In tijden van grote werkdruk is dit een slechte zaak. De COR is voorstander van creatieve oplossingen, maar wijst het bezetten van UvA-panden af.

Response executive committee Central Works Council to occupation P.C. Hoofthuis,

The UvA’s Central Works Council (COR) is aware of the occupation of the P.C. Hoofthuis. Along with many other parties within the academic community, the COR supports the objectives of WOinActie and deplores the fact that this inspiring week has ended with the occupation of a UvA building. Because of this occupation, staff can’t enter the building freely and their work is impeded. Lectures and graduation ceremonies must also be relocated. In times of heavy work pressure, this is very unfortunate. The COR is in favour of creative solutions, but rejects occupying UvA buildings.
