Hendriks teaches in the Minor Conservation and Restoration open to all BA students in Humanities, and at all levels of the Master’s and post-Master’s training programme leading to a professional qualification as conservator. She currently supervises ten PhD’s in collaboration with international partners, such as Oslo National Museum and University, and within network consortium programmes, including: Horizon 2020 Marie Curie Sklodowska Innovative Training Network (MCS ITN) New Approaches in the Conservation of Contemporary Art (NACCA, 2015-2019), NWO CMOP Cleaning Modern Oil Paint programme, the ERC-funded project ART TECHNE: Techniques in the Arts 1500-1950: Concepts, Practices, Expertise at Utrecht University, and the Getty Conservation Center Conservation of Plastics Project. She was investigator for the NICAS seed money project SciRe Scientific Reasoning in Art: evaluating evidence in paintings research using a Bayesian approach (2016-17), principal investigator for the project Materials and techniques of Van Gogh within the NWO De Mayerne Programme (2001-5), coordinating investigator for the ReViGo Revisualising Vincent van Gogh project within the NWO Science for Arts Programme (2012-17), and is investigator for the NWO Down to the Ground project (2018-22).
Hendriks is member of the Scientific Working Group of the Netherlands Institute for Conservation, Art and Science (NICAS) and co-organizes the biweekly NICAS colloquium. She is Academic Director for the Museum Objects as Evidence Bard Summer School (Amsterdam 2018), is Chair of the Advisory Committee to the Bank Giro Lottery Restoration Fund, advisor for the Van Gogh Online project (RKD/Van Gogh Museum) and several restoration projects in Dutch museums. She was member of the scientific board of the Metal Soaps in Art Conference (Amsterdam 2016), speaker representing the Netherlands for the Atoms for Heritage side event of the IAEA Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology (Vienna 2018), and co-organizer of the forthcoming conference PAAP Pigment Alterations in Artists' Paints (Amsterdam 2020).
Prior to her current appointment, Hendriks was Senior Paintings Conservator at the Van Gogh Museum (1999-2016) and Chief Paintings Conservator at the Frans Hals Museum (1987-1999).
