As part of Geertjan Overbeek's researchgroup Preventive Youth Care, Brechtje is currently working on her dissertation focussed on the effects of social skills training programs for children. Her research aims to gain insights on the effectiveness of specific behavioural change techniques and their unique contribution to positive child development. Brechtje believes that by investigating which treatment techniques are effective for whom, training programs can be better tailored to children’s and adolescent needs.
