Cultural Analysis

The minor in Cultural Analysis offers you the opportunity to expand your bachelor's with courses that focus on the interdisciplinary, theoretical, and critical study of contemporary culture.

From the 1960s onwards, Cultural Studies opened up the traditional objects of the Humanities to social, political, and philosophical questions; moreover, it introduced formerly neglected objects from popular, sub- and underclass cultures.

Study schedule

Semester 1

  • Bodies in Public (12 EC)
  • Cultural Analysis (6 EC)

Semester 2

  • Two electives of your choice with subjects in philosophy, media, and literature (12 EC)

Master's programme

The minor in Cultural Analysis may serve as a good preparation for students who want to apply for admission to the one-year Master's in Comparative Cultural Analysis or the two-year Research Master's Cultural Analysis.

Entry requirements

This minor is open for application to students who have obtained an academic first-year diploma or a positive Binding Study Advice from an academic Bachelor's programme. This entails that you must have obtained at least 48 ECTS in your propaedeutic year.
