Bo Wang's work An Asian Ghost Story (2023)  won several top prizes in the past month, including the Golden Dove Award at DOK Leipzig in Germany, both Award for the Best Innovative film and New Jury Award at Curtocircuito Int'l Film Festival in Spain, both Arkipel Award and Forum Lenteng Award at Arkipel the Jakarta Int'l Documentary Experimental Film Festival in Indonesia, and Award for Excellence at Image Forum Festival in Japan. An Asian Ghost Story (2023) is a speculative experimental documentary based on the 1965 US sanction on Chinese hair known as the "communist hair ban". Bo Wang was also recently given the Ostrovsky Family Fund Prize at the 22nd Bienal Sesc_Videobrasil in São Paulo, which he participated in with video installation The Revolution Will Not Be Air-conditioned (2022).
