Nine finalists will pitch their research-based innovations and compete for one of the three Innovation Awards. The jury grants three finalists an Innovation Award - each in one of the categories Environment & Climate, Health, and Society will receive € 10.000 to bring their idea a step closer to application.

But that’s not all, three Amsterdam researchers will receive an Impact Award - an achievement award - for their significant impact on society with their impressive innovations and research projects.

AmSIA – the competition for research-based innovative ideas and high-impact innovations - is organised by IXA, the Knowledge Transfer Office of Universiteit van Amsterdam, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Vrije Universiteit, and Amsterdam UMC.  Both IXA and AmSIA aim to stimulate the impact of research outside the Amsterdam universities and into society.
