The Central Works Council (COR) has decided to not yet give its consent to the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E) of the central working conditions policy and plan of action. Although the COR sees positive developments in the analysis and ambitions regarding health and safety in the workplace, there are still important points for improvement.

The main reason for our currently withheld agreement is that the plan has not been developed sufficiently for implementation. It is not yet clear what effect the proposed measures will have on employees in the workplace. The implementation in faculties and services, professionalisation of managers and occupational health and safety (Arbo) organisations, and coordination between central and decentralised levels have also not been sufficiently developed.

It is important to the COR that a proper policy is not only developed, but that its implementation is also truly noticeable for employees. That is why the COR requests more time and further elaboration, including a concrete timeline, clear responsibilities, and better involvement of the representative advisory bodies. The COR will continue its discussions with the Executive Board on this matter, and looks forward to a more tightly honed plan, which can be implemented throughout the organisation.
