Unsolicited advice on intended termination of ProActief activities

UvA Ventures Holding has decided to terminate the activities of career development organisation ProActief as of 1 July 2026. The Central Works Council (COR) has serious reservations about this decision in multiple areas, including its necessity, the process leading up to it, and the consequences for the organization and employees involved.

The COR holds the opinion that the UvA has a responsibility towards employees, even if their relationship with the organisation is legally organised via a holding or private company (bv) construction. The COR is concerned about the loss of expertise and public resources when activities are outsourced to external parties, as well as the consequences for people who have worked for the UvA for many years.

The COR has therefore decided to issue an unsolicited advice to the Executive Board of the University of Amsterdam. Read the advice that was sent on May 13, 2026 (PDF, 1 p., in Dutch).
