Due to its great success, we are organising an extra historical city walk this Friday! During this walk, led by the enthusiastic volunteers from Gilde Amsterdam, the history of the city and the University comes to life as we pass various UvA buildings, including the Agnietenkapel, the Oudemanhuispoort, the Allard Pierson Museum and the Maagdenhuis.

On 27 October, Amsterdam will celebrate its 750th anniversary - and the University of Amsterdam’s history is inextricably linked with that of the city. We will begin the walk led by Gilde Amsterdam volunteers at the new University Library building on the Binnengasthuis premises. The former hospital has been lovingly restored and renovated, and spectacularly expanded. A special gift to the city!
