We follow a neurology resident who, in her final year of training, becomes seriously ill herself. As a result, she embarks on a double journey: spiritually through her inner self, and literally through the healthcare system. Her prior medical knowledge and personal experience give her new insights, which she shares in this theatrical setting.
The five‑member MensenKoor appears on film and, as in Greek tragedies, plays a contemplative role by commenting on society and providing context for situations.
Speakers
Bart Meijman is a GP who worked in a two‑doctor practice in Amsterdam Osdorp for over 30 years, until his retirement in 2024. In 2012 he was co‑initiator of the movement “Optimale Zorg – Dappere Dokters”.
Susanne van der Velde is an oncological surgeon and Editor‑in‑Chief of Medisch Contact. She produces a weekly podcast and writes a weekly editorial column, in which she regularly reflects on the illusion of the malleability of life.
