There is plenty of room for personal development, among other ways through having the opportunity to play an active role in lecturers’ research projects.

ACASA

The programme, a UvA-VU Amsterdam collaboration, comprises a strong team of lecturers and researchers, thus providing a stimulating environment for collaboration and study.

Collaborations with institutions 

As a student, you will profit from the programme’s collaboration with institutions like the municipal archaeological department, museums and foreign institutes in Amsterdam.

Fieldwork trips

You get to participate in fieldwork trips to such places as Greece. These experiences will help prepare you for the academic and professional world.

After graduation

Obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology from the UvA and VU’s ACASA will prime you for a career in the field of archaeology. Your skills will include conducting archaeological fieldwork, interpreting its results and conveying them to governments, clients and the general public. Graduates can also find work in heritage management or in the cultural sector including museums, journalism, and cultural tourism.
