Are you a first-generation Master student at EB or FMG who came to the Netherlands for your studies? Do you want to build towards your future in the Netherlands? Then this mentoring programme might be for you. The pilot will kick off on 20 March, and you can register until 22 February using the link below.

This international Mentoring programme offers Master's students who are the first ones to pursue an academic study within their families, a chance to explore the Dutch job market with the guidance from mentors working in the Netherlands. With their mentor, students will discuss their personal challenges and discover their strengths as a future young professional. Mentors and mentees will receive guidelines for their personal and professional goals. The language of this programme is English.

What to expect

  • A kick-off event with all mentors and mentees, with opportunities to network;
  • A three-month mentoring period with in-person or online meetings with your mentor;
  • Focus and direction.

The match between mentors and mentees will be based on your Master's programme, the registration form, and the available mentors.

The programme

This mentoring programme is based on the methods developed for Meet your Mentor, a programme to support Dutch students with an ethnic minority background and/or first-generation students in their exploration of the job market after graduation.

More information, including a launch date and timeline, about the programme will become available soon. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact programme coordinator Meltem Halaceli.

Meet your Mentor (in Dutch language) will kick off again in November.

Registration

Registration is possible until 22 February 2024.
The kick off is on Wednesday, 20 March 2024 from 19:00 - 21:30. You are also expected for the warming-up session on 1 March from 17:00 to 18:00 where you will meet other mentees and the project leader.
We will inform you of the location after you have registered.

We do our best to match you with a mentor based on your registration form, study, motivation and the available mentors. As soon as we are able to secure a match you will receive a message with the place and time of the kick-off.
