The Central Works Council (COR) attaches great value to policy development regarding collaboration with third parties. Like the UvA FNV trade union, which is now issuing an ultimatum, the COR believes the entire process is proceeding too slowly, with too few updates, which makes the process insufficiently transparent. The COR has repeatedly shared these concerns with the Executive Board.

The Central Works Council (COR) attaches great value to policy development regarding collaboration with third parties. We have already taken initiatives on this topic before October 2023, and submitted our advice to the Executive Board. The COR is pleased that this advice was eventually adopted by the Executive Board, resulting in the establishment of a committee, and in recent months an additional committee studying three ongoing conflicts. The COR has stipulated non-statutory right of advice on the results of the report.

Like the UvA FNV trade union, which is now issuing an ultimatum, the COR believes the entire process is proceeding too slowly, with too few updates, which makes the process insufficiently transparent. The COR has repeatedly shared these concerns with the Executive Board.

Important that Executive Board remain in dialogue with FNV

The COR understands the FNV and employee concerns, and shares the sense of urgency regarding a sound policy for collaboration with third parties. We respect that the FNV deploys its own resources for this. In the interest of our employees and our organisation, the COR considers coordination essential. Therefore, the council would like to see the Executive Board keep the channels of communication with the FNV open. At the same time, the COR considers it essential to make progress in its dialogue with the Executive Board, and to obtain information relevant to the topic. The COR will continue to inform its constituency actively about developments in this area.
