A special evening with Robbert Dijkgraaf

We warmly invite you to join the UvA Alumni Hub Event in New York City, featuring Robbert Dijkgraaf, University Professor at the University of Amsterdam. Dijkgraaf is a renowned physicist and academic leader, former Director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, former Minister of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands, and President-Elect of the International Science Council, representing the global science community. He was recently elected Fellow of the Royal Society, one of the world’s most prestigious scientific institutions.

Science in times of global challenges 

In his talk, Dijkgraaf will reflect on the role of science in times of global challenges and geopolitical tensions. How can universities help bridge the gap between science and society? And why are international cooperation and science diplomacy more important than ever? 

Connect with fellow alumni 

The evening begins with food and drinks on arrival, offering a chance to connect informally with fellow UvA alumni. After the talk and Q&A, there will be plenty of time to continue the conversation over drinks and bites.
